Bando Hidesomi

Bando Hidesomi was born in Torrance, CA and began her Nihon Buyo training under Madame Bandō Mitsuhiro when she was just 3 years old.

At the age of 12, she studied with Madame Bando Hideko, daughter of Grand Master Bando Mitsugoro IX (9th).

Then, while attending Keio University in Tokyo, she trained for 5 years under the care of Bando Mitsugoro IX, and participated in the Bando School’s Charity Recital in Tokyo and Bando-Kai’s 75th Anniversary Recital at the National Theater of Japan.

Bando Hidesomi has been teaching Nihon Buyo in the Los Angeles area since 1996. She provides lessons for over 30 students of all ages at the Pasadena JCI, Gardena JCI, and the Mai no Kai studio in Torrance.

Presently, Bando Hidesomi is one of the Representatives for the Bando Ryu in Los Angeles.

Bando Ryu

The Bando School of Japanese Classical Dance, also known as Bandō Ryu, is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan and was established at the start of the 1800s by Bando Mitsugoro III. The Bandō family was originally the proprietor of Morita-za, one of the three theaters approved by the government, during the Edo Period.
